Radical Hospitality (RH) is more than a company, it is a movement. It assumes best intentions. It is hospitality offered with no expectation of repayment, and every expectation of creating a more deeply connected world full of friends of friends. Friends of friends are people around the world united by the desire to facilitate safe, connected and authentic travel experiences, whether as host or guest.
Problem:

Travel is expensive and it can be difficult to connect into a local community.

Research

We conducted 46 interviews with travellers and hosts. Compiling all our information into an affinity diagram, we gathered key insights about our users
We compiled users' responses and compiled them into statistics. We found that users host frequently and they care a lot about personal profile information and private messages.
User Personas
From the UX research data collected from interviews and surveys, we came up with two user personas each with their own different needs and frustrations.

Design

Starting with the paper prototypes, we tested our ideas with users and made revisions before moving on to the digital environment.
Establishing a safe community
The invite only feature creates a tight knit community built on friends of friends

Informing Users

On-boarding pages are designed so users have a better understanding of how to use Radical hospitality
